Lagos, Portugal is one of the farthest west areas of Europe. It’s tucked in behind a large section of cliffs, giving it great protection from the tropical storms that have hit the West Coast of Europe recently.
Below are pictures of ruined headsails from boats berthed in Figueira de Foz just after Leslie hit.


We’re in for a few days of big winds, so have taken the headsail down, tied the wind turbine up, removed the solar panels, strapped down the bimini and stripped everything that could blow off the deck or pontoon. I clocked the winds at around 43 knots on camera this afternoon, that’s 49.5 miles an hour 🌬💨
