.. so after our last post where we’d placed an offer on the boat. We had a response by 9 am he following morning, and had the survey completed the next week. Trev used this as a brilliant way to get to know the boat, with all of her faults. The rigging needs replacing, the head sail too, it all needs a clean and I’d like the upholstery in both cabins and the saloon updating. Otherwise she’s in pretty good shape for a 15 year old boat. She’s been impeccably looked after, so thank you to our lovely seller 😀😀
I think the engine and chart plotter repeater might need a bit of attention, but that’s it really.
We’re looking at hull cleaning, rigging and what we can pick up at the London boat show in January to move us closer. It’s all very real now, I have a countdown to handing my notice in (&finishing) on my phone which doesn’t seem to be moving very quickly!!
But hen we look at the list of tings to do/get and I think we might be tight on time:
- Standing rigging replaced
- New headsail
- Hull clean & polish
- Back in the water
- Full clean inside
- Ropes washed
- Ropes rerigged
- Learn to sail her
- Upholstery refitted in cabins
- Bimini made & fitted
- Gas hoses replaced
- Water tank emptied
- Decision on solar (rail fitted or on top of the Bimini)
- Safety equipment serviced
- Tender & outboard to buy & store
- Insurance
- Health insurance
- Sort out personal finances
- Pack up house
- Rent house 🏡
That’s all I can think of here … I know there’s lots more that I haven’t even thought of yet. I think we’ll be glad of the break when we actually go!!
