A week in Weymouth

Hi, long time no chat …

We’ve been in Weymouth for just over a week and the good news is ….. I’ve got my appetite back 🐷🐷

We’ve done some exploring around Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester … eating plenty of cake and lots of coffee. We’ve waded through the recommendations from the lovely Hayley (mainly centred around eateries).

Today there seemed to be a fishing boat demonstration about the fishing quotas and the EU – not a day to have anything but a UK boat flag out.

Jobs completed this week are;

  • Bimini up
  • Leak sorted
  • Hot water system sorted
  • Heating system sorted
  • Water tanks sterilised and run through
  • Commissioned the outboard & tender
  • Tender trips around the harbour for all
  • Winches serviced – thanks Jim 👏🏻👏🏻
  • Windlass serviced
  • Cushion cover material sourced – 💕💕 Joyce for all your help
  • Headsail delivered – ready for the final rigging next Friday
  • Chart plotter firmware updated
  • Charts updated
  • Boat de-greened
  • Family hosted, wine drank, cheeky scones devoured
  • Day away from the boat 🤗🤗

And to think that people believe this is a holiday for us!! There’s later starts in the mornings and a LOT less driving involved, so we’re both happy. Not bored of each other yet as the novelty of seeing each other is still quite fresh.

I’m looking at getting the Go Pro sorted in time to video the first sails up trip for Gianti, where she will look really pretty .. fingers crossed for some good weather.

Huge love S xxx

There is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.
